Sai Kung, in the east of the New Territories, is a harbour town for seafood and boats to the islands, and the gateway to the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark (geopark.gov.hk; HKTB).
The Geopark
The Geopark’s volcanic rock columns and sea arches are best seen by boat (geopark.gov.hk).
Seafood
Loaf On, at 49 See Cheung Street, holds one MICHELIN star for its seafood (MICHELIN).
Take a boat from the pier to the islands.
Our advice: go on a weekday, and check the weather before taking a boat.
