About The Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery
The Big Buddha is 34 metres tall, at the top of a 268-step stairway above Po Lin Monastery, whose temple holds the Grand Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas; the monastery has a vegetarian restaurant, and Ngong Ping Village is a short walk away (HKTB). Temples are places of worship: speak quietly, ask before photographing people at prayer, and follow the signs for incense.
